About The Speaker/s

Rod Hamilton

Founder, Techie, Product Nerd and all-round People Geek, Rod brings with him a background in designing and delivering systems to create globally successful enterprises. As co-founder at Culture Amp, Rod has now turned his hand to creating products that get to the heart of what really matters — the people. When not thinking about products, Rod could be found madly riffing on his guitar, clumsily dancing ballet with his daughter, or kicking the footy with his son.

Chris Seymour

Chris had a range of roles at other people's companies before starting Carcloud. Together with his co-founder, they bootstrapped an e-commerce platform that is now used by some of the biggest names in car rental. This was not, of course, the original plan. Carcloud is now working to transform car rental in a post-Uber world. Chris and his wife both left regular employment to start their own businesses; while this comes with its own challenges, they enjoy the life it allows for them and their 3 year old daughter.

24 January 2018 • How to Leave the 9-5 and Start Your Own Business

I attended the How to Leave 9-5 seminar and found it quite encouraging and useful for a person looking to start their own business. The founders were informative and frank in relation to their experiences. I would definitely recommend this to people in a similar position if asked.

A personal account of the presenter's experience. Not really a ''How to" but interesting nonetheless.
