The first five years of your business is the most crucial part that can make you or break you. It is at this stage where you can gauge if your business has so much promise for expansion or if it is something that needs to fold up. But your goal is to make it big, so your only track is going forward, which means braving through all the rough challenges to bring your business towards the fifth year and beyond.

This stage in your business is when you plant seeds of hard work and ideas and nurture them by continuously challenging yourself and implanting yourself deeper into the business. What are things needed to be done in the first five yours so you can reap a rich harvest as time goes by? Ruby Lee


Ruby began her career as an accountant, but soon after realising it wasn't her passion, switched careers into HR & Recruitment. Ruby has had over 10 successful years working with some of Australia's largest corporate recruiting teams, and in more recent times helping startups scale up with innovative recruiting hacks to boot. 

In 2017, Ruby & co-founder Michael established Tribe9 to help funded startups, scale up. Tribe9 is the go-to people accelerator to help founders build great teams and culture. From hiring advice, engagement and scaling up, Tribe9 values are based on community, passion, hustle and happiness. 

Ruby is also the founder of an online careers community, The Careers Emporium. Launched in 2015, The Careers Emporium is today helping thousands of career seekers find inspiration and empowerment again.

Ruby is a speaker, facilitator and social media buff. She is also a Mum of two boys, an almond croissant addict and avid globetrotter.

Adam Stone

He is Australia's Student Entrepreneur of the Year (2013) at Entrepreneurs' Organisation and is running various businesses in the eCommerce and Telecommunications space since the age of 12.
