Description

Most startup founders build their business around their passion. Tech geeks build IT companies, food lovers open a restaurant, or professionals establish consulting firms. While your passion may fuel you to start your own venture, you need more than that to sustain your business and keep it going. There are processes and systems that need to understand -- from operations to accounting, to sales and marketing, to hiring people -- that may be entirely new to you.

Don't get lost in the nitty-gritty details that are needed to run a business. You may be overwhelmed with all the ideas and the things you needed to that that might freeze you on your tracks. Have a clear direction on where you are going and begin that by freeing your mind and absorbing whatever you can learn from this workshop.

Probably, what you most need right now is to hear something from an expert that can part your own Red Sea, clear the cobwebs and point you in the right direction.

About the Speaker/s

After losing her job in 2009, word began to spread that Sheryl Thai wanted to bake cupcakes for a living. She started to receive requests for parties and functions, and eventually requests turned into orders. Then orders turned into an online business - Cupcake Central. Eventually, even this was not big enough, so in 2010 she opened her first Cupcake Central store.

Bill McCorkell is a fourth generation builder, second generation architect and first-generation manufacturer. His passion for the environment in both its built and natural form culminated in the creation of Archiblox, a sustainable prefabricated building business he founded in 2011. This platform has allowed Bill the opportunity to drill into his passion for delivering beautiful designed sustainable buildings all of scales, right across Australia.

About Masters Series by WeTeachMe

At WeTeachMe, we believe that learning should be inspired and impassioned, and run by the people for the people.

In 2016, WeTeachMe officially became the biggest school in Australia, one giant leap towards our fundamental goal of becoming the biggest school in the world. To achieve this, we create tools that empower thought-leaders and everyday people in all corners of the globe to share knowledge and make it easier for teachers and learners to connect. Our goal is to spark curiosity.

In accordance with this purpose, we have formed a new creative program to help us spread our message. Masters Series by WeTeachMe is where we help share the gifts, knowledge, and experiences of those who have achieved the unimaginable in their life, risen above all odds and have persevered where others could not.

It is on this stage that we elevate and celebrate the curious, and where we invite the best and the brightest, the industry movers and shakers, the well-known and the influential to share their learnings and experiences because their stories are important. From creating thriving companies to challenging what humanity is capable of, we invite you to join us in celebrating the curious amongst us. At WeTeachMe, we believe that it is the curious who change the world.
